Rendering the Real (2012)
“I am interested in anything that helps us better understand the social structures that people have become a part of.” Dr Sireita Mullings-Lawrence 2024
Rendering the Real is a project that has been an ongoing wrestle in making efforts to render and make sense of the dynamic interactions that occur within an arts practice that involves, among other groups of people, those who are ‘young’ and have been type cast as ‘marginalised’. As part of my involvement in Routing Diaspora Histories, I have returned to these works in 2024 and am looking at and interrogating them in new ways.
